Part-time Police Department Administrative Assistant
The Town of Wiscasset is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Police Department. This position is a part-time (25-32 hours per week), union position. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and community-oriented, with a focus on customer service, organizational skills, word processing and computer knowledge.
The candidate will maintain strict confidentiality regarding business and sensitive matters at all times. Municipal experience, knowledge of IMC software, and CPR certification is a plus. The Town of Wiscasset offers a generous part-time benefit package.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Laborer/Mechanic
The Town of Wiscasset is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the full time position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Laborer/Mechanic reporting to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Laborer/Mechanic performs varied skill work involving general duties at the wastewater treatment plant. This is a union position, includes driving trucks and equipment, and is subject to mandatory call – out for emergencies, some overtime, working occasionally in inclement weather. Applicant should possess a Class B driver’s license or the ability to obtain one. Applicant is required to obtain Class 1 Wastewater Treatment Operator’s certificate within two years.

Public Works Seasonal Driver/Laborer
The Town of Wiscasset has an immediate opening for a seasonal part-time Class II driver within the Public Works Department. Duties will include the operation of light and moderately heavy trucks and equipment, general maintenance throughout the town, and sanding and snow removal of town streets. Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical is required as well as drug testing. Candidates must have the ability to work successfully with a team. Class A or B Driver’s license is required. The Wiscasset Police Department is seeking qualified reserve officers.
Applicants must have successfully completed Phase I and Phase II of The Law Enforcement Pre-Service Training Program or already be certified by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. Applicants must be able to successfully complete medical, psychological and polygraph examinations, pass an extensive background investigation.
The Wiscasset Police Department relies heavily on its reserve staff to provide continuous police services to the community.

The Town of Wiscasset is accepting applications for Per-Diem EMTS, AEMTS, and Paramedic. Applicants must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.
Pay averages are; EMT - $13-$15; AEMT - $15-AEMTS, and Paramedic - $17-$20.
