The Donald E. Davey Bridge that carries Route 1 over the Sheepscot River between Wiscasset and Edgecomb will be closed down to one traffic lane on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, beginning at 6:00 PM to install a new fiber optic cable. Please plan; you might experience delays, so prepare to stop and obey all flaggers and signs for your safety and that of the contractors. 

 

This new fiber optic cable is part of the Coastal Maine Regional Broadband initiative. This initiative is a public-private partnership between Lincoln County, area towns including Wiscasset, Maine Connectivity Authority (MCA), and Consolidated Communications (Fidium Fiber). This project is being paid for by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, a Maine Connectivity Authority (MCA) Grant, and Consolidated Communications (Fidium Fiber).
