The Town of Wiscasset is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Town Manager. The work involves highly responsible and varied, complex, multifaceted administrative support activities and frequently confidential assignments in the administration, coordination and execution of activities of the office of the Town Manager. Markets the community and creates community communications links through the administration of the Town’s website, community calendar, and various social media outlets. Position also serves as a backup General Assistance Administrator. Responsibilities will involve considerable contact with town department heads and outside professionals.
Previous experience in administrative support is highly desirable, including knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, as well as municipal operations. Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal. Proficient knowledge on the use of social media as a communications tool is highly desirable. High school graduate or GED is required. College degree in a related field is desirable.

Full time EMS positions
The Town of Wiscasset is looking for full time EMS providers. The ideal candidate will also possess a current Maine Paramedic license; hold a current ACLS card, PALS AVOC/EVOC and have ICS 100,200 and 700. Preferred 5 years of experience, be a team player that understands the needs for collaboration with service members and staff at facilities. Applicants shall be subject to criminal background checks, reference checks, and drug testing prior, to employment.

FULL-TIME PATROL OFFICER: The Town of Wiscasset, Maine has an immediate opening for the position of full-time patrol officer. Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, however an Associate’s Degree, or a combination of relevant training and experience, is desirable. Preference will be given to graduates of the M.C.J.A. basic school; though, the minimum requirement is successful completion of the Maine law enforcement pre-service school. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have no criminal or adverse traffic record and must pass a physical agility test, polygraph examination and profile assessment.
