WISCASSET HAS GIS MAPPING SYSTEM
WISCASSET HAS GIS MAPPING SYSTEM
This winter, the Selectboard contracted with CAI Technologies (Littleton, NH) to develop the Town’s first GIS mapping system. CAI Technologies is a leader in GIS Solutions and Precision Mapping—the town’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds paid for this new system.
Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping is a computer-based system for creating, managing, and sharing visual representations of data linked to geographic locations. This product will consolidate and integrate our tax map data, zoning map data, public infrastructure data (sewer, highway, buildings), and natural resource information into one system to improve economies of scale, efficiency, and transparency.
This new powerful tool will be accessible to everyone, including Town officials, business owners, and residents, on the Town website: https://www.axisgis.com/wiscassetme
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Please remember that this system is new, the Town is working with the vendor to make a few last-minute updates, and staff still needs training.
If anyone has questions or wants a demonstration, please contact the Wiscasset Economic Development Office at (207) 882-8200 Ext. 8 or economicdeveloper@wiscasset.org.
